manden Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 wich crank is strongest? some say 58mm and others say 59mm. one of them should break around 160 wheel hp. yoshimura only used the 58mm Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Dunno where that figure came from but mine (gsxr 1100L - 59mm) ran to well over 200+hp with no problems whatsoever. And I know of a std. but looked after Bandit crank that used to deal with 300+hp worth of nitrous power. I think excessive rpm's together with throttle on / throttle off, repeat, repeat repeat doesn't help. Thousands of these cranks have been raced - track and drag and breakages are thankfully fairly rare - rods are more vulnerable IMO. Yoshimura might have only used (58mm) to stay within class capacity limits? Quote
manden Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 the 78mm with 58mm crank gave 1108.6 cc. ill stick with my 58mm untill i find a really beefy long throw crank that i can make work. im still drooling about 68mm throw if i can get barrels that will work up there. only real problem is casing mods and it is engine out for adjusting valves. but 1.4l to 1.55l engine is very tempting :) Quote
