matt Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Hi, during the current rebuild I am going to be putting a new oil cooler on my EFE, just wondering what size is recommended? The engine has a 1230 kit but apart from that is pretty standard, Is a 10 or 13 row cooler big enough, I am probably going with a 115mm width as the 235mm ones look a bit too wide.Any advice would be appreciated, cheers. KATANAMANGLER Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 10 or 13 should be easily big enough. They can be run without. I run mine with a 1230 kit on a 10. Quote
matt Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Thanks, I saw the pictures of your bike, very nice, that cooler looked like the wider one? Quote
KATANAMANGLER Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 its wide face ( total body width 13") but is but its only 10 rows. I ran a 13 row before but it was the narrower body width (8.25 ") The cooling surface area was probably on a par with what I have now. What width of cooler were you considering? Quote
matt Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 I was thinking the narrower one, the wide one may look too wide on the EFE as there is no fairing like on the Katana.i will have to mock something up to get an idea of how the two width options will look. 1 Quote
Blower1 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I have GSF 600 oil cooler in my supercharger 1327 EFE. It´s slightly too small when riding in city traffic. I´m going swap it to GSX 600 F cooler which is about 2 x bigger than GSF 600 cooler. It´s wide but so is EFE engine. When using oil cooler it would be good to have oil thermostat in the system. Quote
