Swirl Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 What swingarms are you guys running in your full floaters, I haven't had a look at the set up yet on the ES, I have read about people modifying the top mount but not seen many pictures, I've seen Davecara's stunning efe top mount, I have a complete gsxr750m rear end and a complete 99 srad rear end, both with 5.5in wheel caliper swing arm shock all linkages etc and the original ES back end still in place, so what is the way forward Quote
stargixxer Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Yeah, so to run anything else other than standard full floater, you need to weld in top mount brackets to suit the geometry of the kit used and the desired shock travel/ride height. I'm 50:50 on whether I'm going to have the stock arm braced or run something more modern (and probably half the weight). Mostly because I'm crap at welding Quote
Swirl Posted June 2, 2018 Author Posted June 2, 2018 I'm probably going to go with the slingy swingarm Quote
Swirl Posted June 2, 2018 Author Posted June 2, 2018 And the good thing my mate has my old slingy so we can take all the measurements we need 1 Quote

Swirl Posted June 9, 2018 Author Posted June 9, 2018 May have thought of an easy solution for a wider tyre for now I have two 3 spoke 5" rear wheels from other manufactures so may try and stich one of them in the original swingarm for now Quote
clivegto Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 My 1100e has thunder race arm & wheel was like this when I got it. Looks like the frame has been moded. Gives it a shorter wheel base, handles realy good for a heavy bike. Quote
