VJ Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 got my gsx11g engined rat on the road now and am playing with jetting (on a private road occifer ) Ive noticed Its a bit of a pain to get into neutral unless moving and has a clutch rattle when the lever is in and the engine is warm. Anything i need to do here? Ive bodged the pushrod length because the whole thing is a bitsa so I may have that too short but I dont feel any drag with the lever in. Cheers John Quote
bluedog59 Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Strange for it to rattle with the lever in, worn basket maybe ? If you need to balance your carbs to help things, I have a set of gauges and can do them for you. Quote
wraith Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 My help, I've put a b12 slave on Miss W gsxr1100, (so the old slave had the smaller piston, think the sizes where 32mm in stead of the now 40mm may be well out on the size ) Anyway, now found that the gsxr1100 is a real pain to get into neutral, but before went in nice and easy, so going to put a longer push for in. Before anybody ask/says, the reason I put the b12 one in is because I could not find out which model the smaller piston slave was off, as all the deal kits had the bigger piston size and yes it's a Suzuki one Quote
VJ Posted April 27, 2018 Author Posted April 27, 2018 I wouldntbe surprised if the hydraulic distance was wrong because ive no doubt got the wrong slave cyl and also a zzr11 master. Ive got a balance set so ill give that a go blue, ta. Cheers John Quote
wraith Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Miss W is using a zx9r clutch master with no problems, well till I change the slave Quote
johnr Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 if its got the pushrod, have you added a ball bearing to help stop it all spinning and drilling a hole through the piston? 1 Quote
VJ Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 Isnt the need for that removed as theres a pushrod at both ends so they spin on each other inside the cases? Quote
wraith Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 A ball bearing is used when you're doing the downside clutch conversion on the oil cooled motors (in Frankenstein's bit) not needed on a standard motor/clutch. Quote
VJ Posted April 29, 2018 Author Posted April 29, 2018 Ah this motor has always been hydraulic so no worries there. I balanced the carbs yesterday and didnt hear the rattle on a quick test run, i was concentrating more on the carburettion at the time though Quote
VJ Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 balanced carbs and a few more miles on the clock seem to have sorted it. Ive only just got this one on the road and im not sure how long it had sat so the clutch could have been a little sticky, its deffo not as on/off as it first was now anyways. Cheers John 1 Quote
