GS1100 swingarm into a GS1150

Hi guys,

Quick question, I'm living in the US, I've got a GS1150 1985 and I've found a wide swingarm to take a 240 tyre. The problem is it's for a 1980-1983 GS1100 from a company called DSC bikeshop, will it fit? Picture of my bike for interest

Your gs1150 frame is wider at the swingarm pivot than the 80-83 gs1100....the pivot shafts are the same diameter....I assume your swingarm/240 tire uses an outtigger ?

The lack of a mono shock mounting point isn't an issue ?  because GS1100's  have stereo shocks .

Thanks guys, yes it does have an outrigger and I couldn't see the twin shock mounting points on the picture, but now you mention that it's a bit f#$king obvious!!! I'll be in the workshop drinking paint thinners and coke if you need me!!

Wait a minute..  Drinking should be supervised 

 

You could convert the 1150 to twin shock or modify the 1100 arm to monoshock.

I'm no fabricator or welder and they're tough to find in the USA!! Makes me miss home, the lack of local skill over here within 300 miles
