robbo_64 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Hi Gents, got one off no problem, but the other is stuck. Bought a tool from M&P but it didn't work, looks like I need a nut or bolt head on the end of a rod type tool. Anybody done something similar or know where to buy one? Ta Quote
no class Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 air or electric impact to loosen the bolt......otherwise they will sometimes slip . Quote
robbo_64 Posted July 27, 2017 Author Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) OK, Haynes manual shows square taper profiled socket but it still turns/slips. I've seen some pics of a bolt head that is welded to a rod that sits in the damper rod end, 29mm, but I can't find anything like that? Or borrow an impact gun Edited July 27, 2017 by robbo_64 Quote
yyt Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Just did that I don't have impact so i recommend my way.. First i warmed the bottom bolt with (60-80W) soldering iron for about 20 minutes till all gets warm enough to loosen the loctite. For the other end I got a M16 Nut and glued it to a 10mm socket (you can weld to 2 together), i used 3M Epoxy. Than I recommend holding the bottom bolt with an Allen key and opening from the top with the wrench. Good luck.. Actually I was surprised how easy It was this way. 1 Quote
