Tick tick tick boom

Hey guys wondering if the ticking sound when idling is normal for a gsx and is there any way to quiet it down a tad. My son just told me it sounds like an old Transit.

From where? Top end? They're not very quiet motors, in my experience. 

Depends where it's coming from. More information needed.

So you have a leaky exhaust manifold.  check all the studs are present and tight. If they're all ok and the headers aren't cracked, fit new gaskets.

Good luck getting the nuts undone without snapping at least one stud.    WD40 and a blow lamp are your friends.
