Rebore needed !!

Hi Guys,

My GSXR750F had been standing for 7 years, today i got the head off, only to find that there had been some water ingress into one of the cylinder, so i have a little rust on part of the bore !!

Looks like i'm going to have to have it rebored, so recommendations please :)

Who should do it ?

What pistons should i go for ?

All advice greatfully received :)

Cheers

How bad is it ?  If it is just surface you might get away with a clean up/hone.

If it really is knackered it would be cheaper to get another set of 70mm cylinders rather than 4 pistons, 4 sets of rings and the rebore.

Hi, yes i was thinking that too, i'm doing a full engine rebuild and cosmetic restoration, so wont be racing her :)

Just weighing up options and costs :)

Can you Try and post some pics of the bores?

Id say a Top end rebuild Should Give it a new lease of life ,  maybe new rings

You can give it the best chance, have a look at lapping in the valves.  In the haynes manual is a list of things to measure and check.

Probly worth trying to run it without disturbing the crankcases first id say.
