Pheasantplucker Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Hi, I have been playing about with a gs750 gl for a couple of months! Its a import 750 shaft drive with cv carbs. A good friend of mine started a trike project with it, gave up and then let me have a go! I don't do trikes so I cut the back off and made a new subframe, fitted twin shocks (Bonneville) and after paint and rebuilding forks brakes etc its time to get her running. With pod filters and my home made stainless 4 into 2 exhaust the fueling is way out. Has anyone on the forum played with one of these before? How do you guestimate what pilot and main jet would be somewhere near? Any help would be appreciated. 2 Quote
clivegto Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Asked this question for a friend a couple of weeks ago for gs 750 main jet answer was 97.5 standard. Great looking bike you have there. Quote
Pheasantplucker Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 its finished all painted seat covered etc just got to sort out the fueling! just! Ill put a pic of the finished bike on when I get a chance I'm pleased with how its turned out, cost a lot more than I thought though. Quote
Pheasantplucker Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 took the bike to moorespeed racing, they did a few dyno runs and found it ran a bit weak, they made a few adjustments/jet changes and running better now BUT I have noticed a head gasket oil leak.........now stripped for gasket replacement, if it isn't one thing its..................................
