Strangwooduk Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Okay then folks I've just had my 600 bandit stem pressed into the TL1000 yokes after being knurled and there is about 2-3 mm still out of the bottoms is that normal or does it need more pressing Also I was told about it needing a shim at the top yoke which it does need but somebody said there is a bit in the bandit gearbox which works as the shim ? Anybody any idea on that one ? Also having some fork extenders made to make up for the 1 inch difference in fork sizes so wait and see those beauties Quote
Swiss Toni Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 That looks like a collar on the bottom of the stem, if so, and it's hard up and tight, stop worrying! FBOAB will be along shortly, he'll tell you all you need to know about Blandit fork mods. Probably! Quote
Strangwooduk Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Yeah he's a good lad. Had a chat with him before Quote
no class Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 (edited) Once the ring clip bottoms out on the lower tree..... that's it. There is a small shim that goes under the bearing before it is pressed on . Edited February 13, 2017 by no class Quote
Strangwooduk Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 Turns out these forks are 54mm and the yokes are 55 Time to shim haah used a bit of can and it works perfect The tl1000 wheel fits with the gsxr spindle so that's good Quote
