Mk1 and mk2 bandit carb rubbers

Hi all, are mk1 and mk2 1200 carb rubbers the same?

Short answer, NO...

Shame got a nice mk2 motor. And have some brand new mk1 rubbers for another motor I have. But wanting to use the mk2 motor.

Long answer, the engines are the same and the rubbers are interchangeable, so use the mark 2 motor mark 1 rubbers and mark 1 carbs, or any other oil cooled 36mm mikky roonies, its the mark 2 carbs that are really different and needed the  mark 2 rubbers..

So best option is to stick with the mk2 motor as is.

depends what caarbs, ive never usd mark 2 carbs, keep the mark 1 rubbers and find carbs to suit

I've got mk1 carbs I think. came with loads of bits when I bought an unfinished project. what's the difference between the 2? both sets of carbs appear to be the same size as the mk1 rubbers fit on the mk2 carbs but I've not tried doing a complete fit to the mk2 motor

the spacing is completely different, if you put the mark 2 rubbers on the engine the mark 1 carbs wont go on and vice versa.
