Charlie Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Currently making slow progress with another project, a 85 slabbie frame with a B12 motor and VFR750 swingarm (swingarm conversion originally done by speed fab).. Had the B12 motor refreshed by Nikki Kennedy new rings higher compression ratio dialled in cams. What carbs work best? 38 BST's?.. Also exhaust options what works best 4-2-1 or 4-1, have got some delkevic B12 headers.. 2 Quote
clivegto Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Hi Charlie again, exhaust will be better if 4-2-1 for all round power. Some exhaust systems look like they are 4-1 but like the yoshimure ones and the cobra one have a spliter in the collector box which makes them 4-2-1 even though they look like 4-1. 2 Quote
Charlie Posted November 1, 2016 Author Posted November 1, 2016 Ok cheers for that, did you have to change your sump to over to fit your yoshimura system on your slabbie.. Quote

wraith Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 As said 4-2-1 is good for all round/low mid range, 4-1 are good for top end power. As for carbs also depends on what you want 36mm are good for alround power 38mm mid to top. I have a set of 38mm carbs on the gsx1100f powered Kat and seem to work well still has good bottom end because of the F cams but the carbs gives it me top end so it can still keep up with the miss gsxr1100 (1127 streetfighter). So it's all about what you want. 1 Quote
Charlie Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 The bikes going to be a hillclimb race bike all round power is key, so 4-2-1 and 36's will be my best bet then.. Quote
