carb question

should the plastic inserts in the carbs sit proud like this the o rings are all in the proper place and this is as far as they will seat

Pic isn't working. So totally guessing what you are talking about but do you mean the slides connected to the diaphragms? If so as long as it's almost fully closed (about 1-2mm gap at bottom) as you look through the barrel that's right.

As long as it's at the bottom of it's guide run then it's fine. It does need to let some air through to run on idle lol

if you mean the white bits, they should go all the way down, in line with the venturi.

yes the white bits is what im on about they dont go all the way down and every carb is the same i used genuine o rings on them and they wont seat any further down

on all my slingshot carbs (6 sets in total) they are all the way down. Have you tried without the O-ring?

O ring fitted correctly? Does it have to be slid onto the part rather than plonked in the hole?

The o ring sits in its own groove I didn't notice if they were sitting level before I stripped the carbs I will try them without the o rings but like I said all the carbs are looking the same

well i took out the o rings and they sit in the same position so it must be a factory f~~k up then.oh forgot to say in the first post the carbs are off a mk1 1200 bandit

it looks like some carb slide guides sit flush and some dont this is what mine look like so im guessing its normal to have the guides not sitting flush

Mine (10+ sets) are all flush. The whole principle of carbs work off how the ventury is shaped, so the lip can't be good.
