pbarber Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I've been wrestling with my front brake housing, trying to get the snap ring out, so I can rebuild the master cylinder. Problem is my snap ring tool is not fitting in all the way. So, now I'm faced with buying a new snap ring tool that will do the job, or just buying a new aftermarket front brake housing off Eblag. They are actually cheaper than the snap ring tool itself. What is the best way forward? Are these Eblag aftermarket brakes worth it (under $20) or should I just bite the bullet and get a new snap ring tool? Quote
wraith Posted November 25 Posted November 25 The cheep eblag Chinese master cylinders are very hit and miss, you might get a good one or you might get one you end up putting in the bin Quote

I had a shovel head chopper years ago, with a "drum" front brake. Didn't stop very well, so I depended on the rear disk brake a lot. And I know many "restores" who don't even have a front brake. But, I'm into it this much, so I may as well try the "A/M" one. I'll report back to the group. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Just buy a pair of Laser long leg circlip pliers. They're reasonably priced, and do the job perfectly. 3 Quote
