Gsx1100er Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Just put the wiring harness on Project Tetley ( B12 MK2 engine and harness ) All seems to work ok, lights , instruments , horn, etc BUT it blows the main Ignition fuse when I turn the Ignition on. Checked the wiring back through the loom from the fuse box but cant see anything obvious, Checked and cleaned all switch and plug contacts. Starter works OK with a direct battery connection ( checked to see if it was stuck , but all Ok ) Any idea's chaps PS non standard ignition switch ( brand new supposedly with correct resistors fitted ) Quote

Just because it's new is no guarantee that it's working correctly! Once that is eliminated, disconnect everything and re connect 1 by 1 with ign. sw. on until fuse pops - then fault find everything on that connection! Quote
Gsx1100er Posted November 24 Author Posted November 24 Just found it !! connected a test lamp across the fuse pins and unplugged stuff till the lamp went out. I had found an earth wire that was live so just had to find what was feeding it. it was the indicator relay of all things ( TL-67 ). I can now have my tea in peace, cheers for the reply Gaz 5 Quote
