Hi all, a chap I know has a mint condition, still boxed ET tank that he’s thinking of selling. Any thoughts on what it’s worth?

my guess would be around £500 mark for a new old stock one !!!!!!!!

I agree with @TonyGeebut I'd add that if you can find a buyer who wants the black/orange paint scheme it'd be worth a bit more. At say £750 you'd have saved the difference on prep and paint.

The good thing is that it's a rare item as there aren't many about.

The bad thing is that there aren't that many ET's around, and very few getting a full restoration as they're not worth the end cost. So there isn't that much demand.

Personally I'd stick it on Eblag with a £400 start, no reserve and see what happens.

yeah £400 would be a good start point, I bought a used but nearly new red tank a while back with 2 fine scratches (which i polished out) for £300 from a dealer !!!!  it went on this bike but had to match the tail unit paint.
