Fuel tap to fit 7/11

I'm building a 7/11, 1990 750 frame and tank 1100j motor RS36 flatslides, concerned how I'm going to get my Pingel fuel tap to fit in as its very close to cylinder head, do I need to ris back of tank slightly?

Ditch the adapter plate and get a bung welded into the bottom of the tank and it'll raise the pingel up a little. Though I've never had a problem with my 7/11 with an 89 frame and RS38s and a Pingel with the adapter plate, it's tight but it fits.

I space the vack of the tank up 1/2" on my 7/11 builds.
