GsxrDan Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hi lads I've a project bike here that I'll be starting to build soon. It's an 88 750 frame with a 95 wr/ws swingarm. 1216 bandit engine and a complete k6 gsxr750 front end. I'm just looking for some info on fitting a k6 or later 600/750 rear wheel. Anyone that has fitted one of these wheels how was it getting wheel and chain alignment correct? Quote
george 1100 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I have a complete rear wheel from a 2012 1000 that will bolt perfectly into that swingarm with correct chain alignment. I even have the offset front sprocket Quote
Joseph Posted January 30 Posted January 30 It's "easily" done, but it's a bit of work and head scratching You need to fit correct bearings to the rim (smaller spindle on the W, obviously) Compatible bearings are available, that match the OD of the rim bearing and OD of the spindle. Then its a question of fitting the rim, and centering it in regards to the frame and front wheel ( !!! The centerline of the rear wheel spindle is NOT lined up with the centerline of the bike !!! ) And once that is sorted you mesure up the spacers you need to fill in the gaps and get them done Offset sprocket like @george 1100mentioned, it should need 5mm if i remember right ?
