Harry66 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Hi folks,. I need a pair front disks. They seem to be rocking horse poo. Any suggestions?? thanks! Quote
Ben Slabby Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 You're quite limited, 750 discs fit iirc, but you'll need matching calipers. From memory, they're unique to 1100 slabbies. Quote
Ben Slabby Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Sorry. I assume 1100? Got EBC's on my 750. Quote
tabby59 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I have 310mm EBC ProLites discs and their HH pads on my 86 750 slabby. I am also using 86 1100 OEM calipers for the 5mm extra offset for the larger discs. With braided SS lines, it is a very nice set up. Quote
Harry66 Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 Got it. Thanks. EBC including pro lite good. Anyone tried those Chinese ones?? Quote
Simbec1863 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I may have a pair in my shed but will have to check,do you still need them? I have used EBC and they are better if you don't want to keep the standard look,I have some Chinese ones on my RGV but as they say you get what you pay for, they're OK at stopping a light 2 stroke but wouldn't want them on a bigger bike Quote
Harry66 Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Top man. Yes sir, still need a pair. I bought some am22/23 then realised 'not for road use', so got spare wheels and will keep a set for road, set for track. Which rgv? I just finished a 2 year rolling restoration on a blue vj21. Now onto slab project. Very different to work on.. Quote
Simbec1863 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I will dig them out for you I think they are on a loose wheel in the back of my shed I'm doing the reverse finished my slabbie last June now starting Rgv it's a VJ21 in black and silver Once I have the discs out will send pics of them to see if they are what you want Quote
Simbec1863 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Found the discs checked with a micrometer and they only have 4 mm left on them Do you want me to send some pics or are they too low for you? If you do PM me your email and I can send some pics for you to decide if you want them or not Quote
p4ddy Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I bought an EBC rear disc for mine and it was hideous. It was an oily goldy colour and just ruined the look of the bike. I sent it back and was told they no longer do a correct or at least vaguely matching disc. I ended up with a used TL1000 one as they are identical except for thickness . Not checked for compatible fronts though. Quote
