richyrich Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 As in why does my 750L front end feel odd through the lever, ses feedback on the mot as advisory . Deliberately dumb question . The disks are barely used but it sat outside for years, is it the surface rust polishing off ? The calipers were stripped, cleaned and are not seized , everything seems straight . Does anyone know if an advisory has to be fixed for the following year ? Cheers Quote
banoffee Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 What is the exact text of the advisory? If it's 'slight fluctuation' of the disc(s) then it means they are slightly warped and a pulsing may be felt through the lever. Only if it gets worse will it become a failure, then you'll need new discs (and of course pads). Quote
Gixer1460 Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Stating 'feedback' is a bit non descriptive ie. WTF does it mean? Seeing as it was most likely tested on a roller brake tester the rotational speed would be so slow as to hardly feel anything - if the tester did, then I wouldn't want to rely on them! But if virtually new, why are they warped? Maybe they aren't seated correctly on the hub? Quote
Ben Slabby Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 If the discs are slightly rusty, are they "grabby", ie, no progressive feel at the lever? Nothing then everything? Quote
