bernardo Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I'm about to strip down my vm 29s and have a few questions. I've used search but couldn't find the answers. Who does a good quality refurb kit? I think the gasket between the faceplate and the body is nla. Has anyone found a way to replace it? As far as I can see all I have to do for a big bore is to take the faceplate out to 33mm. Is that all or do I have to do something else as well? Can anyone recommend someone to bore the faceplate out? Bernard Quote
CockneyRick Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Robinsons for parts, the gasket you're after is not a part that's sold. I got my GF to make some for me. Can send you 4 for the cost of paper & post? As for boring out plates, @Gsxrsam is your man as he's done 2 sets of mine & others too Quote
Moe Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I bought my gaskets from here many years ago, not sure what he's like on price nowadays ? http://www.motocarb.com/ 1 Quote
banoffee Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 There’s a bloke on FB called The Carburettor Guy who does complete kits. Quote
Macduff Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 (edited) Allens performance do VM29 spares though when I asked for a price for a full rebuild kit the price was in the order of about 400quid. I think it was probably every replaceable part still in circulation for the VM29 so could likley be trimmed down a touch Edited May 29, 2020 by Macduff cant spelk fer taffy Quote
