Is it normal for the 3 alternator wires  to get warm / hot at the point where they plug into the main harness under the front seat.

Doesnt sound right to me so what could be causing this problem and any advice on a cure.

Thank you in advance for any hrlp.

Cheers

Have you tried cleaning the connection?

Yeah - definitely a high resistance  connector! They can get hot enough to melt the connector and short out the alternator phases!

Corrosion at that connection and probably many more

Clean every connection and switch before you have a melt down

#2 reason is a bad R/R. Check the voltage at the battery at rest, idle and 3500 rpm. Shouldn't exceed 14.2 V
