WimBaas Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Hello, I am building a gsx 1100 et with a bandit 1200 engine. I have a nice bandit swingarm with Lucky 7 shockmounts and a nice set of YSS shocks. So I want to keep it twin shocked. The left top shock mount looked like it was welded before and this evening the thread on the mount snapped off. I am no technician so what is the best way to repair it? Can those mounts be replaced with new ones after some grinding and welding? What are your ideas/examples of repairing? Thanks. Quote
no class Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 (edited) you can use a hole saw with the middle drill removed , providing there is enough of the original shock mount left ….If I recall it was a .750" buy measure yours first to be sure ….... after it is cut out , measure the new hole O.D and turn some new mounts...….fit and weld in .
