Scareraven Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 Long gone, it I have been tinkering from time to time on it. So. I gave up and dropped the bike off at a shop. Mechanic said he started from the beginning and cleaned the carbs. Said they were already pretty clean. Said that they were not wildly out of synch either. The fuel line seems like it was pinched, and the fuel filter was changed out for a higher flow item. Also, there was no clamp on the vacuum line for the pet cock. she was starving of fuel. I could get it to rev without the tank, but always bottomed out when I tried to ride it. Took it out for a spin today. Impressions are it’s a shitload of fun. She handles pretty well. Single front disc is squishy. And it can hit 100mph, scary as hell though! I found my limits as a mechanic, but lessons learned!! thanks for all your help! Quote
Poldark Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 "found my limits as a mechanic" ? No, you just raised your limits. Next time a situation like this arises, you won't need to take it to the shop. 2 Quote
