  1. I think i'll go that way to be honest, anti dive just adds complications i don't need!
  2. I'm too fat and old to benefit from stuff like that so it's bandit forks we go! cheers
  3. Can anyone tell me what these are off?, they're on an old gsx600f which i've picked up so i can use the motor in a GS550, just showed a photo of the anti dive unit, would it be better to use these or just get some bandit ones-they're 41mm. Ta
  4. Anyone done it, i'd be surprised if not, what's involved with the fitting and lining up the rear sprocket, expecting to be using standard swingarm and b6 downpipes, just a thought at the mo
  5. thanks for that, i'm trying to work out the best way of going about it at the moment with regard to cost, i'll let you know first if i ditch the forks!
  6. Looking for a bit of advice with a project i've just bought, thought it was a 1200n but it's a sv, you can see it's present state but i'd like to put it back to standard or to a naked. What bits are interschangeable between the s and n, do they share the same seat panels, forks and tank and loom? Thanks in advance
  7. To be honest it's just a blur now, combination of rubbish kit, rubbish technique and lack of patience
  8. what sort of greease gun are you talking about, like the old fashioned type my dad used to grease his old triumps and beezers with?
  9. Is a grease gun likely to be more effective than using air pressure because it didn't want to move done that way?
  10. yes i remember sending him a email regarding using crap filters and he put me right straight away i'll have to order an induction kit-ta
  11. Is there an alternative caliper i can use for the back of my 1981 GSX1100ET. Both nipples are snapped off on mine and one piston is stuck fast-compressed air won't make it budge and unless i can get that out it's pointless retapping the bleed nipples, looking for a direct replace ment if anyone has any ideas?
  12. So having been warned off fitting chinese pods to my newly aquired project i got myself a set of hardly used s&b's, in a perfect world i'd stick with the standard airbox but brittle rubbers etc means it makes sense for me to go with pods and while i'm getting other bits sorted i may as well sort the jetting out now. Where do i start with the jetting, i believe the motor is a 1135cc, i'm fitting a Jama 4 into 1 so a starting point would be a great help, will a Ledar kit off Eblag help and what does one of those kits actually include?
  13. Now that's got me worried, last time i changed my own tyre on an old xs750 i went through 3 tubes before i worked out how not to puncture them!
  14. how much are you thinking and where are you located, you can pm me or just put it down here if you prefer
  15. Ah right you learn something new every day, i thought because the wheels are cast, they are always tubeless but obviously not. thanks
  16. Yes having spent some time on here i've got lots of ideas, just trying to sort out the niggles and actually get it roadworthy which is harder than i thought it would be, when you say rwu running gear are you talking bandit front end would that go in?
  17. And should these have tubes in i'm guessing yes because the old one has?
  18. Just happen to have a brand new Metzeler in my shed which didn't get fitted to a triumph a couple of months ago so was hoping to use that and save pennies
