That little extra bit allows easy fitment of an Electronic speedo on old oil cooled bikes that no longer have the cable drive

It's the mk2 bandit pick up, that has a magnet sensor on the sprocket cover

Ahhhh gotcha. so it can be adapted to use a speedo sensor. nice idea

i found that if you continuously turn the oem tap to prime, the internal cast mechanism that enables it to open, is flimsy cast alloy and eventually wears out and fuel doesn't flow. I also believe in prime, it doesn't flow at full volume. When you turn it, there's a slight internal ramp that opens the valve. You will notice the lever very slightly depresses. This happened to two of my oem taps so far. Pingel only for track bike now

Yep very true....i used it cause i was skint and couldnt be arsed with it. but im in the process of changing it over to a pingel now. and relocating the fcuker to the rear of the tank....i hate it in the original position for racing purposes.

Right, well, after testing 2 other sets of coils, testing 2 other COP looms, and 2 other ECUs, AND checking that all the wires apparently have continuity, i still had no sparks on 1 and 4.

So today i unwrapped half the loom from the back, up to the coil plug under the tank, replaced everything from that plug to the ECU with uninterrupted new wires and as it stands it is back to normal use.

I'm guessing there was a breakage or some kind of issue in the previous set up, i must say i spliced and soldered an OE loom to suit my new apparatus layout, so maybe something vibrated off or corroded slightly.

It's probably going to be dead when i try it out tomorrow but until then xD

Had to be the wiring after you eliminated all possibilities. lets hope it all works out, wiring gremlins suck ass.

  4. I have no dramas with my original fuel tap on my FCR39 track bike, its a 91 model tank and tap.

i switch it to prime and run both fuel lines to the carbs and the vacuum hose to the number 4 intake rubber.

I have no problems at all on track with fuel starvation. but will depend on the fuel tap, they did change on some models

What year is gen 1 up to?

Does it apply to Bandit 1200?

all front sprockets on the oil cooled motors are the same spline (z13)

But not all used the same pitch. the 1100's where 532 while the 750's and 1200's where 530.

But u can also convert to 520 for the race version which is alot lighter in terms of chain and sprocket combination weight

    hope that answers ur question

@Kamikaze: exactly, thats why these OSS are all i use and will ever use, nothing ever fails on them, right ? xD

HAHAHAHA....ok ok, sometimes they shit themselves. but with the knowledge on here, there isnt a problem i havnt seen fixed or rectified by advice or self taught experience.

And yes, modern tech parts like stick coils are a great upgrade, stick coils arnt rocket science so we can easily fix or replace them at low cost. but they help the old girls survive dying old parts.

All my 5 girls are over 30 except for the K4 1000,  but your right...i just cant imagine owning a new bike, id go mental if i couldnt work on it myself

sounds awesome. ok who's the porting guy in New Jersey?

no need for bigger valves but if u want a bit of a refresh on the head just reseat or lap the valves. u got the head off and its worth the effort at very little cost

    Hey.

I will check those @Kamikazebut extra info to add :

After cleaning up the ECU terminals i managed to get a healthy start up/rev/running

Went well just a bit then started playing up.

Let it rest, started it up. I've got 1 and 4 exhaust pipes that are cold.

Changed ECU by another same one but i have the same problem.

Ok. Check ur carb balance or sounds like your carb slides are sticking. Or something is causing them to stick once u feed fuel in there.

if u had a spare set of carbs, change them ans see wat happens..

  9. Looking awesome, luving the front end.

U Can make a small spacer for the rear discs....get something laser cut out of stainless or even steel in 2.5-3.5mm should do it
