Your talking about a motor, and about Suzuki engine parts, it must be a hybrid!

Motors run on electricity / oil / air, when it runs on fuel it's an engine.

Wonder why they call them motorcycles??.

  2. It could be the return in the master cylinder on the handlebars, if you take the cover off and operate the clutch you should be able to see it return. there is usually a little baffle there to stop it squirting right up just pull that out of the way and operate the clutch, if it does not return all the fluid every time you pull it in it will just jack the piston on the slave out further hence the bent tin plate.

Back on this again, anybody know anything about gearbox ratios on the 11's. The F obviously has a different spline on the clutch end of the input shaft, but I'd like to know id the gear clusters are compatible with the rest of the shaft. Anybody who has a manual, I'd love to see the ratios themselves.

    primary reduction ratio  1.565  [72/46].  final reduction ratio 3.200 [48/15]. 1st 2.384 [31/13]. 2nd 1.631 [31/19]. 3rd 1.250 [25/20]. 4th 1.045 [23/22]. 5th 0.913 [21/23]. these are for an 1127 I believe the 1052 is the same.

Ok, 6 speed in 1127 or only 1054 is the next obvious argument. Would be a shame to fuck this up

For those not paying attention, this might be an 'ckle project for the winter.

I use a 6 speed in mine, have done for years this particular one has done 2 classic TTs silver rep in both races and finished 4th in the pre TT classic on the southern 100 course. you really need to use the gsxr gearbox rather than the teapot as 1st gear is taller and the gears are stronger.

  5. That sounds like a big end to me, if you take all 4 spark plugs out  and  r/h engine cover then turn engine over with a spanner get each of the pistons in turn to go over tdc so they are going down then take a long screwdriver through the plug hole rest gently on top of the piston then push down if you hear or feel movement then assume its the big end. do each one in turn remember the piston has to be decending.

My old GS is still running a 630 chain, which looks like something off an old steam lorry.

Its way too big for the power output and as it's o-ring it's even wider than Suzuki intended and rubs on stuff it shouldn't.

If I swap down to say 530 - how do I work out the proper length? - i'd sooner buy an endless chain of correct size.

Would you keep the same number of teeth on each sprocket to keep ratio same or would that make diameter of front  sprock too small?

    Cheers

    Andy

If you had say a 16t 630 front sprocket then you just replace it with a 16t 530 same goes for the rear if it was 44 then replace it with 44 as with the chain if it was 110 links then replace it with 110.

    Hi,

I have an 1127 in a slabby and was giving it a tidy up recently. Upon finishing and giving it a run, I noticed the exhausts leaked at the head slightly.  It was leaking badly prior to this so I fitted new gaskets.

I looked at the online parts catalogue and noticed I'm missing the exhaust plates (Item 5 in this figure)

I ordered them and they look like a restrictor -

because of this I'm not keen to fit them but may need to add something else to take up the space to get it to seal

does anyone know why these are fitted?

    cheers

Those are deffo restrictor washers was always taking them out on bikes that came in for first service.

  8. That seal will just pull out there is no lip on it to hold it in , but as been said be carefull the gear shaft does not go in as it could become disengaged from the selector drum gear. that's not really a problem but you would probably have to remove the clutch to put it back in.
