  1. quick recap. 1988 1127. 2005 gsxf750 ECM. m-unit blue. all inputs work. ignition output provides 12 volts to coils.WTF?

ok so I've tried to wire it every way from Sunday and I have no spark.... I have 12 volts at the coils but no spark.

so when I ground the ECM  like it says in the revival cycles instructions it takes power away from the signal generator. (when I don't ground the black/white it has about 11 volts in the ground wire) and power returns to the signal generator.

I have tried the 100 omh resistor and it knocks it down to 8.5 volts (in the orange /yellow)when grounded(black/white) and still no spark.

is it possible that both coils are bad?  its lucky it doesn't have a face because if it did it would of got punched by now.

    please help

Search around, this has been brought up a lot of times. Usually you only want the M-Unit controlling power to the CDI.

I did search around and I can’t find a clear diagram that’s why I’m asking here.

  3. hey guys how ya doin?

I need some help. im half way through wiring an m-unit blue into my 83 katana. the engine is an 88 1127 the ignitor is a 2005 gsxf750.

can anyone give me a wiring diagram of the ignitor to the m-unit? I have everything else talking to the m-unit just fine. its just the ignitor that's getting me all bollocked up.

    thanks guys.

  4. So it’s my 83 katana with an 1127. The bike came with a 2005 gsx750f Kat motor and wiring all from that 05 bike.

because I’m an idiot I let the smoke out of the harness. After buying 3 separate harnesses from Eblag, all as bad as each other I decided it would be cheaper and easier to start from scratch.

I have all the hand controllers doing what they are supposed to do. The igniter is the last piece of the puzzle.

i don't know the specific ignitor you are using (looks to be the 6-wire one), but most are pretty simple.

12V and ground to power the thing, signal input from both pickups, and signal output to both coils.

this is my igniter. Can you help me get from the m unit to this igniter. Am i coming out of the m unit ignition out into the white?

    thanks for your help,cheers

  6. hey guys how ya doing? im wiring in an m unit blue right now. starting from scratch.( don't ask) so far I have  the left and right hand switches taking to the m unit.the ignition switch is almost sorted.

now the ignigtor has me all balls up.

can someone shed some light on how to wire the ignitor?

oh the controls and ecm  is from a 2005 gsxf750f .

any help would keep me looking youthful.

  7. so after doing battle with an assortment of Eblag harness's I think im at the point of starting from scratch.

my 83 katana has an 88 1127 in it.

any issues using a dyna  2000 with it , does  it all play well together?

should I base my harness on an 88 1100 wiring diagram?

    thanks guys

sounds awesome. ok who's the porting guy in New Jersey?

Dear I ask why you want bigger valves in a DOT head?

Are you looking at putting on the 1127cc motor?

You only need bigger valves if you're going for a big bore +1216cc the DOT head already has the same size valves as the 1127 motors and if you're going for a big bore you can get higher compression with the big bore.

Getting a head ported is always worth doing.

I don't know what your engine building is like but put bigger valves with a different compression head, you will also need slotted cam sprockets so you get the valve timing right and not hit one of them nice valves you just had put in.

ok thanks wraith .no big valves. the head looks like it needs to be freshened up. should I have it ported or just clean it up and use as is?

  12. morning guys, I live in northern new jersey ,USA.

does anyone on here know of a shop here that does good head work. like bigger valves and porting  on a dot head?

    cheers.
