  1. Probably, my Harris was originally on a GS1000, now it's on a GSX1100ET and the rear mount fits the GS750 frame they are/were both in. I would think the only issue might be the rar mount on your 1150.

On this subject I decided to stay with the original caliper but trim away all access metal to stream line it. Also did same with bracket

Very neat, are you using the OE master cylinder & does it work ok? I fitted a 16mm clutch cylinder on the left handlebar to operate the back brake & it's probably better than the front!

I have one in a drawer in my shed. What do you mean by a '44mm' tap? Pings are imperial sizes except for the adapters that aren't that big. In the absence of any adapter, what measurements do you need? A pic would help.

It's the centre/centre distance of the mounting bolts & having measured the installed height of the std tap and from Clive's pic it seems a Pingel is the solution to my problem.

  4. I have a fluted GS1000 fuel tank on my 7/11 & RS34 flatslides, unfortunately the 44mm  fuel tap just rests on the top of carb No.1  and hits the carb top when going over bumps/rough ground etc so I have been looking for a lower profile fuel tap, the later taps without a lever are shallower but 50mm bolt spacing.

Does anyone have a 44mm Pingel fuel tap & could measure the installed depth for me or does anyone know of a shallow 44mm tap without a lever?

    Thanks all.

  5. Does anyone know what models use what size front caliper pistons? Mine are 38 X 36 but all the replacements I can find seem to be 38 X 22 which makes me think Suzuki used calipers that look the same externally but have different internals. I thought my calipers were 1100 Katana but it was many years ago that I bought them so I may be wrong. Thanks, Mike.

  6. Quick update, I had forgotten how good a Harris race baffle sounds on big old 4s and also how awful the lights are! I remember Joe Lucas used to be called the Prince of Darkness but the 750ES headlight isn't much better. LED headlight bulbs seem to get mixed reviews so not sure if that's the answer either.

  7. I recently had inspiration to dig my old 7/11 out. I built this from parts 35 years ago but last used it in 1999.

It was laid up properly, oiled bores, fresh oil, drained fuel tank & carbs, drowned in Scottoiler preservative spray twice a year etc.

After fitting new plugs, battery, oil & filter, replacing some fuel lines that had perished, eventually remembering to connect the harness earth and giving the carbs a once over it started!

A few other jobs have been done & I'm just waiting for some caliper seals then it should be good to go just in time for winter :-(
