Mine look the same length, oh well back to the drawing board. Thanks for your help.

Finally, it's a rh thread 2mm bolt.

Great thanks, I'll go and measure mine :-)

Many thanks :-)

Does anyone have a workshop manual to hand & can let me know the fork oil level for an 81 Kat 1100?
Thanks.

Is it not a reverse thread?
Good question! Don't know

Can anyone measure the tiny trip meter reset knob retaining screw for me? It seems to be unavailable from Fowlers etc but it's just a tinly little screw so should be easy to buy if I know what size it is.
Thanks.

Ive got the front end off a GS1000L . Leading axle forks same as the 1100et can measure the length if you want
If you can measure the stanchion length and diameter it would be very useful thanks.
-
Turned out to be a non starter, the stanchion has a machined finish below the swept area which would enter the swept area if I added an extension. I wonder if something like an 1100et or one of the factory customs of the era have a 37mm stanchion that's longer then the Kat one.....................

Not sure about the 380 but back in the day my 550 used to burn rotors out for fun, a continuity test between the brush tracks will show if it's gone pop.

sorry Mike can't help, I haven't got one to measure and don't know if its the same size as the bandit oil piece.
No worries, I'm sure someone will have one. It's a great way to extend the forks. Thanks anyway.

I'm planning some fork extensions as in this thread for my Kat forks
Does anyone have the lower fork locating dowel, Suzuki call it an OIL PIECE & can measure it for me so I can have the spacers made prior to stripping my forks?
Thanks in advance :-)

Remember, what the septics call a GS1100 is a GSX1100 over here

Do it, no brainer, less weight, less drag = more power to the wheel.
-
Have you checked No.3 piston TDC is aligned with No.2, I've seen a slightly twisted crank (not on a GS though) cause very odd running probs.

Those are proper effed, look at the great wear ridge:-(

Would be interesting to compare these drawings to the ones I have for my gsx1100 into a gs750 frame swap. Perhaps they're the same?
The mounts are the same, I originally had a GS1000 in my 750 but swapped it for an 1100et without any problems.

I have an Accossato 16mm radial cylinder with std 1980 single piston calipers & it works well. I also have a 16mm clutch cylinder connected to the rear opposed piston caliper which also works very well, the std one barely has any effect.

Everyone using GS/GSXs back in the day removed the lot & ran total loss but if you need a starter & genny why not look up some of the classic endurance teams that run GSX1100s like Dynotech https://www.facebook.com/dynotechperformance/posts/2655410677854834/?paipv=0&eav=AfZn9wy2gjxSbE2MeoW0T0HzdMpNQnC85twRUNvOHRdfKC0C-MfaUpi_N8xOxX6SnMw&_rdr

Can't find them but I'm sure someone on here once posted some drawings for the modified brackets, the rear lower goes straight in but the front 2 need modding & the 2 x lowers & 2 x upper rears I think are made from scratch. I had a 1000 in my 750 since swapped to a GSX1100ET.

Which one's the spring supplied as stock?
Sorry I don't know, I'll be talking to Allens soon about mine & will ask them.

Does anyone know if a later gsxr 600/750/1000/1300 uses a 36mm switch with resistors? A Healtech GPI can work with them.
