    Katana

looks good... my first 'big boy bike' when I was 17 was a 550 Katana
  2. Purely aesthetic. I don't like the cable wrapping around the block and up to the headstock. I go to a lot of effort to hide all the cables and wiring and the clutch cable spoils it sticking out the side like that. At least with hydraulics I can route it between the carb rubbers and under the tank. Also balances the clip-ons at the front so that looks better too.
  3. I might shelve this project for a while now then!... I've got all the other bits ready now too... Anyone used one of the conversion type pull cylinders that act on the original arm?
  4. So I've pulled the clutch cover and pressure plate... it seems that as @clivegtoand @dupersunchave said unfortunately the shaft isn't drilled on the 750 motor. Do you have to split the cases on these to remove the shaft? If so that's game over for now then... shame all other bits are interchangeable,
  5. cool, anyone on here have the parts I need available, or advise me on location? only offerings on eblag seem to be America/Canada. Scratch that... I've found a lever and complete sproket cover on FB market place... I'm guessing i'll need a 6mm stainless rod... any other parts? sorry for all the questions, just trying to get as many bits ordered up and prepped as I can!
  6. Hi all ... is it possible to do a hydraulic clutch conversion on a '89 GSXR 750 motor?
  7. Thanks... will run the pipes as they come then!
  8. Hi all, quick question on oil cooler plumbing... standard coolers and a few aftermarket replacements have to oil lines into the top of the cooler, however most aftermarkets just have pipes straight into the bottom - do the pipes drain back when stationary meaning you have a delay for the oil to fully circulate the system on start-up with this configuration? I've got a HEL cooler and lines on order that is supposed to be lines into the bottom, just wondered if I should get longer lines with 180 degree fittings and flip the cooler?
  9. cool, they come direct from America normally so expect a small customs charge before you're allowed them!
  10. I second using a all balls conversion kit, can just put the frame details in and it will bring up a list of compatible front ends with the part numbers for their bearing kit. I put a TL1000 front end on an 84 GSX frame with one of their kits, no hassle at all. just lockstops that you have to figure out yourself.
  11. sorry to jump on this... was going to ask the same question. Can I check that 1&2 on the pic go to the bottom fittings and are fuel inlet. 3&4 are the top fittings and are just a breather? I also have what looks like a large breather in the centre of mine, near the throttle cable - should this connect to anything? I believe I have the bst38ss carbs.
