With matching inlet boots, you can use 36,38 carbs without airbox.
The vm29ss bored out to 33mm work on the 1052 really well and you can keep the airbox.

I'm with Pete on this one, get some CV36mm carbs the VM29 carbs can be a real pain to set up even on the gsxr750.
I dont think so........lol

Flatslides don't take kindly to ham fisted wrist action. Also make sure the accelerator pumps are all working.
When set correctly you can chuck them open also
