  1. As part of my winter weight loss program, I'm replacing my clocks with a lovely set of Chinese Koso knock offs, as we know the instructions in Chenglish are interesting, particularly the power feed from the door lock " as it says for the permanent power.    Anyway to start matching wires up I need to understand what my existing ones do but my manual is a black and white PDF and when I blow it up to read I can't read the colour labels, so does anyone have one in colour?

Or can anyone confirm what these colour wires do  ( all from my current clock plug )

    Yellow & black

    black & Green

    Blue & black

    Black & red

I've got the power, ground, indicators , lights etc working so its the complicated bits like, tach, temp, fuel level etc that I need to sort out, any ideas?

    Here's a pic

  2. I've got one and I like it,

Mine goes like stink so I'm happy with it and they tend to go for less money than oil cooled models so its your choice really, I'm part way into fightering mine as well so that means you loose a shed load of weight and combined with a lightweight exhaust you've lost some more.  Its a long time since I had an oil cooled one so difficult for me to compare.

What to look for apart from the usual bodges on any 20 year old bike, the engine can have a whining noise which on mine was the starter clutch bearing, which is easy and inexpensive to change. The only other thing is that they are more fiddly to work on with all the extra pipework under the tank.

Where are the headlamp brackets from if you don't mind me asking, they are very smart & professional looking?

  4. Is the idle speed set too low on the carbs, from what I can fathom from reading the thread but not bothering to watch the videos ( life's too short ), it sounds like the OP is trying to speed up the tick over by tightening the throttle cable?

  5. Depends if you are in the UK or USA a the 700's were US market only as far as I am aware.

In the UK the 750's are decent all rounders but will never be worth that much as they aren't rare or popular enough,  in the UK  one with a broken engine would be worth  around £2 - 300 ish.

I'd imagine that external tuning parts would be similar between the two although I'm not sure whats available apart from exhausts and filter, I'm sure a grown up will be along soon enough to confirm.

  6. Guys, I've bought a set of Bandit 1200 carbs for my GSX and need to buy some filters either K&N or Ramair but all the filters listed or pictures of them at least show a round Filter intake yet the carbs are oval? So can anyone confirm what year and bike my carbs are off please so I can order the right filters.

  7. Question time, hoping someone has done his before, I'm sure people have.

Anyway been struggling to get me GSX1100ESD running right since I've had it so for the last 2 years, I've given up on the current set of standard carbs and am looking for an easy swap to something newer. I think I've settled on bandit 1200 36 mm cv's, but wanted to know if they will fit my inlet rubbers as my carbs are 34 mm, however measuring the o/d of my current carbs they come in at around 42 mm. Also can anyone confirm that bandits use a push pull throttle? if so then I will need a new throttle / twist grip assembly.

If this is the case I might go to a quick action throttle, but would want to keep my standard switch gear, so again is this possible would it ll fit together?

Also would standard B12 jetting be in the right ball park for a GSX1100?
