  1. Cheers mate , winter project . Started in October and was due to finish 1st May but unexpected engine problem delayed things a bit, still all good now ! Gaz
  2. Cheers guys . The reason i asked is that my project ( suzi 2 ) was supposed to be finished last weekend. Bike started up and was smokey for a couple of minutes ( which i thought was ok as it had been standing for a while ). Smoke got worse to the point of oil running down the exhaust pipes !! I took a chance on the motor and always planned to put a B12 in if it wasn't right , hence my questions. I decided to strip the head and barrels off the 750 and surprise , surprise !! Its got a virtually new Wiseco 771 big bore kit fitted. the bores are perfect but it appears whoever built it put the standard rings back in. you can hold a dance in the ring gaps !!! Valve guides are all good. Hopefully a set of correct rings and valve stem oil seals will cure the problem. No B12 now required. Gaz
  3. I'm told that physically this is a straight bolt in job. What bits of the 750 are compatible with this motor ? Exhaust system ? CDI unit and coils ? Oil cooler ? Chain and sprockets ? Anyone wanting to part with a good , complete B12 motor ? Cheers Gaz Carbs ?

Well the project continues to frustrate. The CDI was toast , so a replacement has got the bike started. The fuelling is now all over the place and Ive just had the carbs ultrasonically cleaned. There are 4 very small " power jets " in the bottom of the float chambers and its almost impossible to see if they have become clear after the treatment ( the hole is so small ). I decided i would get 4 new jets but there is only one in the whole of europe and a back order to Japan could take weeks. Does any one know a sure fire way to clean small brass jets ? any pareticular chemical that will dissolve old petrol residue ? You've all been a great help so far, dont desert me now, its nearly finished !! Gaz

Well the big day has arrived, almost finished and time to start it up . Cranks OK , has fuel , but no spark at the plugs. Checked all fuses OK, getting 12v at the orange/ white wires at the coils with ignition turned on . Just need to check i have connected the coils the right way . I believe the orange / white wires are the permanent live coil feeds and the other two are the trigger wires.Looking towards the headstock ( sat on the bike ) i have connected the orange /white wires to the outside connectors on each coil and the trigger wires to the two inside connectors of each coil. Is this correct ?? Should have photographed it before i stripped it. Cant find any info anywhere so hoping someone can advise the correct connections. I'll post up some photos when its finally completed. Cheers Gaz

Well the project is coming on nicely, just put the wiring back in and have the following symptoms ( i have removed the side stand cutout and diode as per instructions on the forum and fitted WP clocks ). I have had to modify the harness as I've fitted a 2011 rear sub frame and re positioned the fuse board and cdi unit. I have : front and rear sidelights, number plate light and headlight ( single bandit unit ). I have engine turnover. I have horn. I have instrument lights. I have full beam blue indicator lamp( both on high beam and pass flash ). I dont have : oil pressure warning lamp, red ignition warning lamp. neutral warning lamp and rev counter. not yet wired indicators. I do have a loose pink wire that i cant find a connection for ( mid harness ), cant see it on the wiring diagram ( ? ) Its probably summat simple , just not found it yet. Any idea's ???? Gaz
  10. cheers chaps, the tap isn't passing fuel when engine off. fuel is not leaking past the vacuum diaphragm either. fuel flows ok on prime , but not in the On position , nor on reserve. ordered a set of new float needles and a carb kit. thanks again Gaz
  11. My mate has a Mk 1 600 Bandit and hes just called me to say the engine oil level has risen past the glass and on removing the oil filler cap it stinks of petrol. Is there a common fault for this to happen ? The petcock is always set to ON , never on prime position. Would petrol leak through if the floats were damaged ? Any help greatly appreciated PS hes also got an oil leak at the top joint face on the gen cover. Fitted a new cover but still leaks ( only when ridden ), doesn't leak at tickover. Would the two things be related ?? Thanks.
  12. anyone know if the loom connector blocks are compatible with 750L ? ( either 600 or 1200 ) Ta
  13. Yeah I thought that for the black /green wire but the grey is a mystery Gaz
  14. Im sure someone will have done this but just need a bit of info to make the thing work. WN-WP clocks have 11 wires to the plug. Orange /green : Yellow: Black: Grey :Black/red: Light Green : Black/green : Green/yellow : Brown/black : Black/white : Black/blue. 750L wires at the plug ( 9 ) Orange /green : Yellow : Black : Light green : Brown : Black/red : Black/white : Black/blue : Green/yellow Now Im assuming the following: Orange green to orange green Yellow to yellow Black to black Light green to light green Black /blue to black/blue Black /white to black/white Black /red to black/red green/yellow to green yellow brown to brown/black This leaves me with a grey and black/green with no connections to the 750L harness ?? Have I missed something ? If anyone can help, id be very grateful Cheers Gaz
  15. Cheers Captain !! For more extra power I'm gonna use Yoshi tie wraps. Gaz
  16. Hi , the bike came with tie wraps holding the pipes to the frame. Obviously need the correct brackets / fixings. Could any one give me clue what they look like ? Cheers Gaz

The bike was bought as a non runner, so not had it started. It's performance will be judged by how far I can throw the can. The down pipes are s/ s as is the collector but everything after that will be binned Gaz
  20. I made up a plate that fits across the back of the pillion pad and mounted two small round lights to that ( ya*a*a style ), just a bit different Gaz
