The physical dimensions of batteries should be the same among different manufacturers. If you get the correct battery code from one, e.g. Yuasa, it should be the same size as for another, e.g. Motobatt. Maybe you were sent the wrong battery.
the batter i have is a motobatt mbtx14au it fits good but about 25mm to high wont allow the airbox to sit down

folks,i have fitted a motobatt battery on advise from here, but the damn thing is too high and wont let me fit the airbox anyone else with this issue ?

There's a captive washer that acts as a seat for the circlip. If you 'wiggle' the piston, whilst pulling on it, it'll come out, and all will be revealed! There will be a rubber seal on the piston. Below the piston, will be a tapered spring, with a rubber cap. Cap goes next to piston when re-fitting.
thanks Toni,it worked a treat mate i will clean the cylinder walls and re fit a new rebuild kit ,by the way she fired up tonight first time in 12 years happy out sooo close now mate, just tidy up the wiring and tune the carbs ,plenty of pics next week, just in from the man cave, her indoors has a face of war on her hahaha has to be done, thanks again mate

thanks folks, tonight i will try this,i have removed the outer rubber cover, and the circlip,is there a rubber to still come out before the piston comes out, i can seem to see one visible,i thought when i pulled the circlip out it should come apart ?

Pretty sure I have one lying around ...drop me a PM if you are interested. It is not clean - and no where near the standard of the renovation you are doing. But would give you a starter for 10! I may even have a relatively new clutch cable.
In the end I bought an Accosato cable clutch to put on my project. Though now moving to put an oilblower into the frame, so will be moving to hydraulic clutch.
Alternatively you could use a new Bandit 600 one I would imagine - pretty sure they are a cable clutch.
hows it going mate i will restore it if u have it i have a fecking knack for it now haha, where u based and is it off a kat 11 ?
