The physical dimensions of batteries should be the same among different manufacturers. If you get the correct battery code from one, e.g. Yuasa, it should be the same size as for another, e.g. Motobatt. Maybe you were sent the wrong battery.

the batter i have is a motobatt mbtx14au it fits good but about 25mm to high wont allow the airbox to sit down

There's a captive washer that acts as a seat for the circlip. If you 'wiggle' the piston, whilst pulling on it, it'll come out, and all will be revealed! There will be a rubber seal on the piston.  Below the piston, will be a tapered spring, with a rubber cap. Cap goes next to piston when re-fitting.

  3. folks,

i need a bit of help here,i have an 1982 katana 1100 and the front master cylinder is leaking badly,i casn buy a rebuild kit on Eblag for 20 or 30 pounds, so i tried to remove the old stuff today and im not getting very far, i have removed the front rubber which i think is just to protect from dust, next i removed the circlip, now im stuck, i cant seem to see another rubber and the shaft will not pull out, is there any info here on it ,i have cleaned all around the area just cant seem to see another rubber which the manual says there is ?,thanks again lads

  4. hi folks,

what do ye use to clean outside of carbs,i have the internals sorted, but the outside looks poor even though they are clean, is there a solution ye use like brake cleaner with wire wool ?,the outside 2 caps are supposed to be polished but mine are pitted  and will probably have to settle for a clean ,so looking for hints please thanks

Pretty sure I have one lying around ...drop me a PM if you are interested. It is not clean - and no where near the standard of the renovation you are doing. But would give you a starter for 10! I may even have a relatively new clutch cable.

In the end I bought an Accosato cable clutch to put on my project. Though now moving to put an oilblower into the frame, so will be moving to hydraulic clutch.

Alternatively you could use a new Bandit 600 one I would imagine - pretty sure they are a cable clutch.

hows it going mate i will restore it if u have it i have a fecking knack for it now haha, where u based and is it off a kat 11 ?
