  3. Built quite a few bikes over the years from Z1R 1440 with twin webbers  Kats through Gsxr 1100 turbo to big note turbo and supercharged Busa’s

been toying with a  Gia/ Spondon KAT for a while called down 6 weeks ago and they were closed……. We all know why now

so I bought a Kat frame and bodywork 3 weeks ago got it home and prepared for the build. The idea being to build a restomod with a turbo Gsxr motor.

all was going to plan then i heard of a brand new Martek frame kit for sale .F@k it change of plan againCollected during the week

need a new bike bench due to other unfinished projects here it is

Nice little update Steve Taylor is now happy for the bike to be dropped off for wheels finishing now the flew shit is hopefully passing arrangements are for it to go next wee:banana:k  kinda lit my fire again with this project

What sort of turnaround does he do now

    and what sort of price

if you don’t want to post you could either give a ball park or PM me. Always wanted a pair  I need wheels for my next build so may as well push the boat out

your build looks the dogs by the way

  6. Well it didn’t wait long I fully stripped for vapour blasting prior to the motor being rebuilt. Best tip I can give anyone doing this on any motor? Bag all the parts from different parts of motor and label, take loads of photos on your mobile showing all the fiddly bits and buy a genuine manual. ( or download one)

there’s always one hidden bolt that can catch you out.

the yellow tray you can see in the photos

is brilliant for keeping all your top end parts in order

  7. I was away for a week and bike off for a few days when I got back so should have had the bike sone bar paint

whilst I was away Covid was announced

i was on the phone to my son whilst driving  just having the general crack ( he’s 30 by the way so not a kid )

we were having a good moan about the biking season being fkd  blah blah blah

We started discussing the build on the supercharged bike as I was doing a full refresh on that motor as well as a big bore and head job.

he then says I’ve found some of your secret stash of parts.

why don’t we just build summit

so that was it when I got back everything was stripped labelled and bagged

The  engine was on the bench as was sone of my secret stash

bought the wheels ages ago and never used them nor the header

next will be the interesting bit the engine

  8. Ok a bit of background before the build

the plan was to buy a std gen 2 Busa and run it with maybe a wrap abs an exhaust so that I have a std ish bike to use

the turbo nitrous Gsxr 1100 and the supercharged Busa are not the best for every day running

so I bought a cheap gen 2 in Pearl white unseen from a bloke at works son

when it turned up it was rough as fuck

not a single panel wasn’t marked

looked Like it had been parked in a back yard for yers..... it had

so it sat at back of workshop for a year and a bit.
Plan no 1 was to strip it and clean it up

on removing the fairing it was minging

exhaust hanging off engine had caked on mudd

once stripped I set on cleaning everything. Engine looked part clean

    all panels were skipped

frame was  rough so I powder coated it black.

once it was so far down

I decided to rebuild as a streetfighter and  either keep it or sell it

I then was looking on here at frame kits and fancied a Spondon type Busa

so off I went to Martek

on the way I was toying up a big tube frame or a Katana big tube

his work is the bollox  but I couldn’t wait

    ( I’m an impatient Cnut)

so on the way home decided to build a tasty but on a budget  streetfighter to ride for a year then probably sell on to make a few quid and start a Kat build

so this is where I got to

before I changed my mind well my son helped me change it
