SiBag Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Ok dumb question time. I'm rebuilding my 750m and I have a choice of two heads. I have the stock 750m head and cams, or a 750 dot head and j/k cams. I only have valve stem seals to referb one of them. Are there any advantages to the shim head over the locknut head etc.. Thanks in advance. Quote
Nik Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 (edited) The castings are different and the DOT head will not fit the 750 M engine. The DOT heads came on 750 short stroke engines, 748 cc, but will also fit the 1052/1127/1156 cc engines. 1985-87 and 90-91 750s were all long stroke engines, 749 cc, and the heads have a different shape.
