Will a b12 engine fit straight into a gsxr 750 1990 frame?

I'm thinking about the engine on this build and was thinking about going for the b12 swap as it'll probably be cheaper and easier to get hold of than a gsxr 1100 engine, I have had some really helpful information on this before from everyone,

I wanted to ask if the engine will have enough room in this frame tho because the petcock on the tank is already quite close to the oil lines that connects to the top of the engine and I was just worried that if it's any bigger it'll be hitting the petcock? Any help would be great

Yes it fits.

I have a Powerscreen engine in my 750L, and a fuel tank from an 1100 which has a slightly relocated tap.

When it had a 750 tank (which I damaged in a crash) I had to lift the rear tank mounting points a bit with some 10mm spacers.

Thanks captain I might have to try those spacers then if I hopefully get the engine, I would love a 1100 tank but they seem to fetch high prices on Eblag.

My tank has a two rust patches, I've tried to clean them up the best I can but one was so pited I couldn't get all the rusty bits out, would you recommend replacing the tank or do you think it might be salvageable? Cheers

Thanks mate I appreciate your help, looks like it's possible then, I really like the look of that bike and the tail suits it well.

Do you have any advice on the small rust patches I have on my tank? Would you treat them and use it or would it be a case of having to replace the tank?

I might try and salvage this one then, it's not too bad and overall it's in good condition, I really like that seat, I always regret sell parts but at the time it funded the build so it seems like a good idea lol

if you lift the rear of the tank 10mm, you will need to support the middle of the tank (where it sits on the rubbers on the frame) with 5mm spacers. Otherwise the front mount takes a lot of weight and starts to crack eventually. I found out the hard way.
