jamie k Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 hi guys i have a 1991 gsxr 400 with a rod through the block , i was wondering if there was a cheaper alternative engine that would fit from maybe a bandit 400 etc that would keep ,my carbs exhaust etc save a major build as im just looking for a quick and easy fix on this one as i dont have the time or money for anything extremeif you have an engine etc that would suit me feel free to pm thanks Quote
badgerkdd Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Early non V V B4 engine should fit size wise, I think they shared a few components? You might have to check the mountings / loom connections though? Might be a bigger ball ache than just getting a second hand Gsxr400 engine. Why not look at putting in a 600 Gsxr engine instead, they might be cheaper then the 400 due to more available from written off front end shmashes etc. Again don't know about size but I know the bandit engine had a bit of space around it in the frame.
