no class Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) looking for options on recovering the seat on the project katastrophic.....the seat I have is the original but has long since faded ( lost that velour texture) ......I kinda like the seat material those kwaka ELR 1000's had with the small criss cross weave patern but have no clue what it's called or where to source it . I remember that some other type of faux suede such as alcantara or something of the sort was being used but don't know if is any good for outdoorsy weather conditions ......any thoughts or input would be mucho appreciated .... pictures are a bonus ! ginal Edited February 8, 2017 by no class Quote
KATANAMANGLER Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I have alcantara on my seat. It was deigned for open top sports car and speed boat seats. It's stain resistant and doesn't mind getting wet. The weave style vinyl looks good too there is a guy in the UK Steve Adams ( lucky 7) who is an upholsterer by trade and Katana fan and he does exceptional work. 1 Quote
KATANAMANGLER Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Porky used the vinyl weave on the front part and plain on the back bit and it looks good. I think his is a Steve Adams seat too. You can see more on his build thread 1 Quote

The reason I ended up buying a Kat project - his Kat was what inspired me to get off my arse! @no class I have contact info if needed (He sells under trays amongst other things).. but a search for Lucky 7 and Steve Adams should yield you a contact.
