wraith Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 OK, never seen this before... Started the gsx1100f powered Kat up just to keep it happy over winter. Been outside, under a nylon type bike cover. (I have the braided hose and stainless mesh filtered crank case breather up between the outside of number 4 carb and cam cover). Wheeled it around a bit, including sitting on it, no static noticrd. BUT - When I pressed the start button I saw a spark go from the outer upper side of the cam cover to the breather filter and that then gave a small flame. It has a Dyna 2000, Dyna coils and ht leads. Not started it since; suppose I ought to, but..? Any ideas what it was, or has anybody seen this before? Quote
richyrich Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 could the ht lead be shorting accross a wet cam cover surface ? a film of condensation over the metal and the lead be sat in a drip of water, a nice hydrocarbon vapour mix built trapped in the breather filter ? the bike will be fast, its eager !
