telekarlsen Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) I've recently purchased an '83 GSX 750. I would like to replace the stock front fork with a newer up-side-down type, from a GSXR model. How much work will it be? What model can I use as donor, if any? I understand I must replace the triple trees, but do I have to move the pin, or make a new pin? I also understand I may have to replace the front wheel, but that's fine with me. Anyone with experience on this topic? Thank you Edited August 19, 2016 by telekarlsen Quote
Rene EFE Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Slingshot USD is a straigt fit; use the entire frontend in wheel and brakes and it's just an afternoon's work. Single mod thet needs doing is making or modifying the lockstops to suit. 1 Quote
telekarlsen Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 Thank you Rene, Any model I should look at? 91-95? T Quote
Rene EFE Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 88RWU through to 95 1100USD all go straight in. Basically all Slingshots plus the watercooled twincradle ones. Plenty about and more than capable to cope with the 750ES. Mine goes round corners A LOT better than a stock one. 1 Quote
johnr Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 750 slingshot forks are about 50mm shorter than 1100 iirc. Quote
