niknak750 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) I have a Jap domestic market 750 j and am trying to sort the light before mot and registration. As a jap market is Right side dipping (same as uk) should be ok, but the bike was registered in Belgium for a while so lights might be Left side dipping?? Have tried then against a flat wall and beam pattern seems flat with no breaks or kick up on either side. Is there any markings that would tell me what I have fitted before buying more. Gixer1460 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 You've got your dipping mixed up - Japan and UK dip to left, rest of the world (sort of) dip to right. Some motorcycles are centre dip to avoid the left / right supply problems. Surely you can tell what its doing if its ready for an MOT? Quote
Ben Slabby Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Flat beam pattern. I have the same on two of my bikes. Should pass fine. Quote
banoffee Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Correctly adjusted flat beam (i.e. no 'kick up) to either side should pass OK. If it kicks up to the right you should be able to get away with correctly positioned thick tape masking off the kick up part of the beam, effectively making it flat. Quote
