Rossco(Iceman Josros) Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) Quick question to the masses - when testing the compression on an oil cooled motor what psi would indicate a motor in good health and should you do the test with the engine hot or cold and throttle open or closed ?? Cheers nicely in advance Edited May 15, 2016 by Rossco(Iceman Josros) Quote
Gixer1460 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 In my experience, 175+psi is good with no more than 10psi spread. Warm engine best although cold will give similar readings for diagnostics just a bit lower. ALWAYS throttle open! Quote
Sheep Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 What effect would a closed throttle give, out of curiosity? Quote
