Antman Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Got a stripped bolt on the clutch cover haven't pulled the cover off yet as just found it as I was chasing an oil leak. Anyone know if there is enough meat to helicoil? Or some other suitable repair. And instead of draining the oil from the sump can I leave bike on side stand and only drain the oil from the clutch housing. Cheers Ant Quote
Jaydee Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Yeah, plenty of meat left to use a helicoil there. Put a bit of wood under the front wheel so the bike will lean over on the side stand further. That way the oil will be further back from the opening. You'll always lose a tiny bit that gets trapped behind the case gasket. Nothing to worry about. Put a rag under where you're helicoiling to keep foreign matter from getting in to the engine. Quote
