which wheels and brakes fit SRAD750 forks

hey everyone, im thinking about putting a SRAD750 set of forks on my 89 gsxr frame, the SRAD750 forks go straight in on the later model slingshot 750 yokeset which i already have, so that really helps out as far as steering stop/bearing/fitment issues for the neck of the frame.

anyways, im wondering which wheels would work on the SRAD forks and which brakes, id honestly like to use the SRAD complete front end but if there some later model wheels that work and are cheaper and lighter i wouldnt mind that aswell. id probably go for the nissin 4 pot calipers but id like to know which bikes use the ones that are a straight fit on the SRAD forks.

just to bring it up because maybe ill run into this issue with the SRAD forkset, i can technically use newer model forks aswell, up to like 2006 or something for the 750 and then 2004 i think for the 1000 as far as the bottom and top yoke diameter being the same, but i did learn that the spacing between both fork legs is different, they are more narrow on these sets, so if i use the slingshot yokeset i would have a gap between the forks and wheel, how hard would it be to make a spacer, and also how bad of an issue would that be for setting up the brakes? the only reason i see the possibility of running some newer forks is for the radial calipers, i know there's conversion kits for axial forks but it doesn't look nearly as good.

thankyou!

Gsxr1000 are the same as srad discs. Zero offset, so should be easy enough to get some spacers made to bring them out to suit the yokes and break position.

Yes, srad/tl/busa fork spacing is 214mm. From k1 it's 207mm. What spacing are your yokes?

not sure ill have to pull out the yokeset, its a 1991 gsxr750 yokeset, not sure if theres a chart somewhere that already has it listed.

any chance you can tell me how to measure the spacing? never done a front end swap before so this is rather new to me.

Ok, first step.. try and see how far you get. Sounds like you have the yokes available to you. Do you have measuring tools?

will have to do it in the morning, should be able to get a reading tomorrow. i have a caliper but not sure if it opens up enough to get this measurement.

i just wanted to mention that its not necessarily my first rodeo with doing something like this, i want to emphasize "like" because there's a kit for the conversion I'm doing right now. putting first gen zx10r front and rear end on a 2001 zx7r, now while its pretty similar to what i want to do with my 89, there has been a person that has already solved all of this and sells a kit to where it basically is a straight swap. there's also another kit he sells to put a zx10r motor in a zx7r frame...but that wont be for a little while...we'll see

it'll be a little while before the 89 gets to be brought out the shed but im starting to really get excited for it, and since the zx7r is almost done (other than paintjob) i want to make a detailed and concrete plan for the bike so there's no real complications when i get to start building it up. the engine may end up being the last thing i do so when i get in those moments of despair with this build, ill get to stare at it until im ready to keep going lol.
