paddle Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 Hi not been on here for a while covid nearly got me.Anyway my 1200 blandit rattles terrible it's a little better when hot I've done the valve clearance and replaced the tensioner spring but it still sounds bad.Im now thinking the cam chain has passed its service life the bike has done 35k miles .Has anyone had the experience of using the split chain to avoid the engine strip down.or are they best avoided.will i get more cam chain milage from a manual tensioner. Thanks Quote
TonyGee Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 35k is not a lot for a cam chain replacement, especially a hivo. it could be the tensioner is ready to click over to the next tooth ? Quote

paddle Posted July 26, 2021 Author Posted July 26, 2021 All done thanks I took the plug and spring out and gently pushed on the tensioner and I heard it click. It sounds like a new bike now so it did indeed need its next click.thats one to remember for the future Thanks Quote
