_luke_ Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Hello. Few days ago i noticed petrol smell in garage. Then i see that gsx is leaking beadly. It was leaking from carbs in to engine and then from rear sprocket oil seal So engine was full of oil/petrol. So everything is dismounted, i will wait till petrol evaporates totaly. Then engine flush with new oil. Then i dismounted carbs. When i set petcock to PRI it starts to leak beadly from carb 1 and 2. Floats and needles that opens/closes petrol work ok. Cant figure out what is the problem?? May be float hight?? With petcock set ON everything is normal. Quote
StevieB Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 I've had carb problems too. There's loads of posts with your bikes issue. Sounds like fuel leaking past float valves on 2 carbs. Probably need new float valves. Been posts on here how to check carbs for leakage. Quote
StevieB Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 This recent post has a description how to test float needle valves Quote
Dezza Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 That's a massive fuel leak. The carbs look really clean and in good shape. Have they been apart recently? Anyway, if they were mine I'd be taking the whole lot to bits and replacing the seals and any other parts that are obviously worn. BS carbs have joins between carb pairs for the fuel intake, with each removable alloy stub having 4 o'rings (I think, maybe 2). If these are perished, fuel is going to piss out like in your video . BigT Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Also, there are O rings under the float needle seat, which are prone to failure Replace all of the O rings in your carbs CycleOrings.com Quote
