Billythekidd Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Was thinking about putting captive spacers in my slabbie, anyone done this and where did you get them, or did you make them, 3 spoke 17" wheels from a slingshot, Quote
bluedog59 Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Providing you can swap the bearings for ones with a bigger I/d it should be easy enough to do. If you work out the dimensions it should be easy enough to find somebody to make them. Quote
markfoggy Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 If you would like some good advice on this I could write a book. Please don't do it wrong. Usual guess is that you won't find bearings with a bigger I/D so dropping spindle size is usually your best bet. Cheating and finding bigger seals is an option, then you can get semi captive to work, spacers hang on the seals. Or you change the wheels for later stuff and run into other problems. But.... 1 Quote
bluedog59 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I don't know, there are quite a few bearings that have options on the I/d . It may only be down in the sub 25mm range of sizes and you may need to adjust the internal spacer length but it's worth checking the bearing catalogue just in case you fall lucky. Quote
