    I have a few more projects on the go at the minute but the gs1100 is one I would really like to get moving.

    I had planned a big bore and thought I would send the crank off to someone who knows what they are doing.

    I have an old gs1100 motor under the bench, project leftovers!

    The fella I got it from took the head off to replace it but stopped there and never got around to putting it back together.

    Its done 50k  plus.

    I would like to rebuild the motor and give it a little more go but I'm a little wary of doing it myself! and cant afford to have someone do it for me!!

    What info should I know before starting?

    Is there any books that anyone would recommend to help with the job?

    I have a workshop manual but I really could do with getting it right first time?

    Any advise would be gratefully received.

     

  3. I fitted the S&S as its better for the 1/4 than the Micky Rooney ......which I also have and will run at some point

    But both have there pros & cons and can be made to work on the street...:tu

  4. So, If the TB was mounted between the turbo and injection manifold you wouldn't need a carbon sealed turbo?

    Is that right? There wouldn't be any vacuum applied to the turbo by the motor when the TB is closed?

    Sorry for all the questions Im trying to get as much info as I can for a future project!

     

  5. looking at the picture of your plenum!

    A neat job, do you run a single butterfly with a throttle position sensor before the plenum?

    Home made or from another vehicle?

    Do you do this stuff as a job? Never ridden a turboed bike myself but reading all the builds on the forum makes me want to build something!

     

     

  6. Hi, I am new to this site, joined to find out more details for an engine swap I intend to do on a gsx1100et I have had for a while.

    I have now been seduced by tales of turbocharging and I am now thinking about a GSX1100/1200 Bandit Turbo project!

    So, why don't I see more draw through single carb turbo conversions? like the ones that Mr Turbo used to do?

    I see some of you fellas have fitted draw through and injection but would a single flat slide 42mm mikuni be so bad?
